Python developer

ObjectStyle is a provider of open source solutions and commercial software development services with offices in the US and Poland. We are a major driving force behind such projects as Apache Cayenne – a powerful ORM framework, Bootique.io – a container-less Java app launcher, LinkRest – a model-driven REST engine, and a number of others. Our clients are located in the US, Australia, and EU. We work with the National Hockey League, Wikipedia, and other great companies.

Currently we are looking for a remote Python Developer to join our global team. The customer is Ander.ai – one of our key clients. Healthy workplace, supportive environment, long-term projects in educational field.

Who you are:

• Have a solid understanding of Python 3.x and web frameworks (i.e. FastAPI and/or Django).
• Comfortable working in Linux and using Docker (we use Ubuntu).
• Experience with SQL databases (we like Postgres) and SQLAlchemy ORM.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Committed to writing reliable, scalable, testable, and maintainable code.
• Works well with teams, but can also put headphones on, get in the zone, and get things done on a solo mission.
• Communicates clearly, both verbally and in written English.
• Experienced with Git and GitHub.
• Experience working in a full or partial remote work environment is required. We are a fully remote company.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain core backend platform features and services for Trivie’s platform.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Architect, staff engineers, and the rest of the team to define, build, and develop server-side functionality for new features.
• Write clean and reusable code (with comments, tests, and documentation).

Bonus:

• Familiarity with cloud architecture, development, and deployment practices (preferably AWS) is a plus.
• Understanding and practice of DevOps principles.
• Previous experience developing integrations for enterprise software.
• An interest in or experience working with machine learning and natural language processing.
